Rental Delivery & Returns: Step-by-Step

How garments are delivered and returned when renting from The Style Archives.

Including key info on shipping timeframes, what to do if delays occur, your responsibilities once the garment is delivered, and how to properly return items on time to avoid late fees.

  • We want your parcel to reach you in perfect time.

    • Next Day, Tracked Courier Delivery: We ship throughout New Zealand using tracked couriers. Rural or Saturday delivery may incur extra charges.
    • When We Ship: Garments are sent 1 - 2 days before your rental begins.
    • Delays: While rare, courier delays are outside of our control.
  • What if your parcel doesn’t arrive in time?

    • Booked 4+ working days in advance: If your parcel doesn’t arrive on time (and you didn’t authorise a no-signature delivery or redirect it), you’ll receive a 12-month store credit.
    • Booked less than 4 working days before event: No refund or credit – this was booked at your own risk.
    • Rural address or Saturday booking but didn’t select rural / Saturday shipping: No refund or credit if it arrives late.
  • Important Notes:

    • Once a parcel is delivered, it’s your responsibility.
    • Authorising a no-signature delivery or redirecting a parcel may lead to delays or theft – we cannot issue refunds or credits in these cases.
    • If a parcel is stolen after delivery, you will be liable for the full replacement cost.
  • Returning your item is quick and easy.

    • Return Method: Use the provided prepaid return bag and drop off at any NZ Post Shop counter by 3PM on your due date.
    • Important: Do not use street post boxes or third-party agents. These create delays and you might be liable for late fees.
    • In-Store Returns: Can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
    • Lost Packaging? You’ll need to cover return shipping using NZ Post Overnight Courier, and email us the tracking number.
    • Lost our cotton bag? A $15 replacement fee applies.
  • What Counts as Late?

    A return is late if your parcel isn’t lodged and scanned at an NZ Post counter by 3PM on your return due date, or not returned in store as pre-arranged.

  • Late Fees:

    • $25 per day, charged daily for up to 10 days.
    • You’ll also be charged for any future rentals we can’t fulfil due to the delay.
  • More Than 10 Days Late?

    If we haven’t heard from you, the garment will be considered a non-return:

    • You’ll be charged 150% of the item's retail price (RRP).
    • The garment becomes yours to keep.
    • You’ll be charged for any upcoming bookings for that item that we’re unable to fulfil.
  • Important Notes:

    • Using an unauthorised return method (e.g. drop boxes, untracked mail) may cause delays and late fees may still apply.
    • Extensions must be approved in advance - keeping an item longer without permission is a breach of contract.
    • We reserve the right to recover any missed income from future rentals caused by delays or non-returns.
